Personal information is defined as any information about an identifiable individual. It does not include the name, title, residential/business address or business telephone number of an employee of an organization.

This policy confirms our commitment to its responsible use and disclosure.

About Us :

OZA Inspections Ltd. is an environmental loss control consulting company. The company was established in 1976 in Grimsby, Ontario and is a wholly owned Canadian company with a Canadian owned American subsidiary, OZA Inspections Inc., located in Niagara Falls, New York.

OZA provides a variety of third party services at every stage of construction projects beginning with Pre-Construction and Blasting Surveys. These surveys are conducted by OZA's trained, certified and professional staff of inspectors. The survey includes interior and exterior inspections complete with written and certified documentation of structures in proximity to construction activities.

General Public Information

We may also collect information for the purpose of notifications, mailing newsletters or other promotional information about OZA Inspections Ltd. This information is gathered with the knowledge and consent of the person involved, for instance in a “request information” email sent by them from our website. Personal information will always be removed from our contact list upon request. To request removal of your name from our contact list, please contact our Information Officer at the address and phone number below.

Our website does not utilize cookies. The only information collected via our website is information that is sent intentionally by the user.

Collection and Retention of Photographic, Written and Video Pre-Construction Condition Survey Documentation:

OZA provides pre-construction condition surveys. The survey includes an interior/exterior inspection, including photographs of buildings and structures, or portions thereof, determined to be in close proximity to the construction activities. Survey documentation is maintained in, but not limited to the following formats; written, digital photography, 35mm photography, HI-8 video cassettes and Mini-DV video cassettes.

The purpose of the survey is to assess the general condition of the structure prior to the commencement of construction and reference in the event of a damage complaint.

OZA Inspections performs inspections as a third party, independent consultant. In order to ensure the security of our records, we do not release our documentation to the directly to the outside interested parties following the inspection.

Personal information collected via condition surveys will not be used or sold for the use of solicitation and is maintained solely in the event of a damage claim. Survey information will be maintained for a minimum of 7 (seven) years. Paper documentation is destroyed by shredding. Disks and diskettes are destroyed manually and rendered unusable.

Accessing Your Personal Information:

Upon written request, we will provide you with access to any personal information about yourself which is included in our files, including an opportunity to view any videotape of your property. If we cannot give you access, we will respond with the reasons why.

If you believe we have incorrect information about you in our files, you have the right to request a correction. This applies to factual information, not professional opinions. We may ask you to provide documentation to back up your request.

Where corrections are warranted, we will make the correction and notify any others who may have received the original information. If we do not agree that the information in our files is incorrect, we will include your statement about the issue in our files and will provide that statement to any others who may have received the original information.

Information Storage and Protection:

All staff members are aware of our Privacy Policy and are instructed on the use and disclosure of personal information.

Paper information is transmitted in opaque and sealed wrappings using Canada Post or a reputable courier service.

Paper copies of personal information are stored at a secured storage facility operated by OZA Storage Inc for a minimum of 7 (seven) years.

All outgoing emails contain a Privacy Statement.

Client information is archived in a secured storage facility operated by OZA Storage Inc. Because we provide ongoing services to many of our clients, files are retained indefinitely. Upon request, personal information will be removed from our files.

Electronic documents containing personal information are disposed of by deleting. Disks are manually destroyed.
